The Curtain Rises
Statera Mundi University 2025 Edition
A bright dawn rose with the hum of the Portal, calling forth a new wave of students into a year both fresh and uncertain. They stepped through with excitement, some carrying sorrow from the year past, and others already bloodied, simply grateful to be alive.
Yet even amidst the familiar rites, the sorting, the punishments of the Spirits, the first bonds of clan and class, something was wrong. It began with a swirl of colours that struck at every sense, and from it rose strange pillars, where the enigmatic Game Master loomed. Soon after, red flashes tore the sky as the Inquisition of old stormed the grounds to seize what they claimed as theirs. The full moon brought wolf-born troubles of its own, while the Ministry’s shadow crept, prying where it was not wanted.
Chaos bloomed. Students were pulled in every direction, while even the Headmasters spiralled into a deadly conflict that threatened to consume them both.
But the students endured. With quick minds and resilient hearts, they banished the Inquisition, unravelled the Game Master’s riddles, parlayed with Spirits high and low, and at last calmed Auris herself—sparing Indoles from a bloody fate.
The year ended, the Portal closed, and celebrations were held. Yet a question lingered in every heart:
What if this was only the beginning of something far worse?
