The Court, the Cross, and the Gate

A new year, a new set of students. The energy was high, the cauldron bubbled in all sorts of colours, and honestly, it all promised to be a healthy start. But then a crack shot through the building. They all rushed outside, only to find the great Gate of the school reduced to rubble, destroyed beyond repair and infested with strange growths.

Rats soon infested the school, armed with advanced weapons and poisonous bites. Yet for all their viciousness, they seemed the least of everyone’s problems. The Inquisition had returned, stirring up students and faculty alike until the students were forced to take their fates into their own hands, deceiving the Inquisition even as they angered them further.

Meanwhile, the Crimson Lord Orpheus declared full-scale war upon the Ministry and, by extension, the school. With his immortal entourage at his side, he showed himself upon the grounds, bringing conflict and bloodshed with him.

But the students endured. They deceived the Inquisition, stood against Orpheus and his immortal followers, and ultimately defeated the Crimson Lord himself. When the dust finally settled, the school was left battered but standing, its students once again proving that they were more than capable of surviving the chaos thrown their way.

With the conflicts finally ended, the fae among the students turned their ingenuity toward one final task. Together, they constructed a massive, enhanced fae circle capable of sending everyone home.

The year ended, the Portal opened, and the students departed. Yet as they looked back upon the ruins of the great Gate, one hope lingered in every heart:

Would the Gate still be there when they returned? And if it is there, would it protect them from the drums of war?
